Shader Lab
GLSL fragment shader playground
What it is
A GPU shader toy running a real GLSL fragment program compiled through Flutter's FragmentProgram API — four effects (plasma, ripples, kaleidoscope, tunnel) driven by live uniforms and pointer input, with a CPU painter fallback when shaders are unavailable.
- GLSL
- FragmentProgram
- CustomPaint
Under the hood
- A real GLSL fragment program compiled at runtime from a bundled .frag via FragmentProgram.fromAsset.
- Four modes — plasma, ripples, kaleidoscope and tunnel — driven by live uniforms and pointer position.
- Shader compilation is wrapped in try/catch with a CustomPainter fallback, so the app cannot hard-fail on an unsupported renderer.
Honest notes
- Best on CanvasKit; browsers without fragment-program support drop to the CPU painter.
